Volume comes first
The number of rooms, and how full they are, decides the van and the crew. A two-bedroom house that is packed to the ceiling can take longer than a larger house that has already been cleared. Lofts, garages and sheds count if they are travelling. Say so on the house removals enquiry.
Access in this town
Guildford access is the second factor. A drive in Burpham is not a stair off the High Street, and a flat in the centre may need a legal place for the van before anyone lifts a sofa. Long carries from a parking spot add time. So does a lift that is booked for a one-hour slot.
Godalming and Cranleigh add a few miles from our base at 6 Woodbridge Rd. Those miles matter, and they matter less than a cottage stair that will not take a wardrobe.
Packing and timing
A house that is boxed when we arrive is a shorter day than one we pack. Packing can be part of the quote, for the kitchen only or for every room. Fridays and the end of the month are busier. A date you can move by a day or two is easier to plan than a single hour tied to a chain.
What we need in order to quote
Both addresses, floors, parking, and anything heavy or fragile: a piano, an American fridge, a marble top. Insurance is provided. Ask what is covered when you book, rather than assuming a figure.
Use the moving cost calculator only as a rough sense of which factors move the number. For a figure you can plan around, get a free quote.
